En ce temps là, Tof Vyler se trouvait sur la côte landaise pour faire du surf. Le soir, il aimait bien aller prendre un verre avec ses amis surfeurs pour discuter de leurs exploits de la journée. Une fois, en arrivant au bar, Tof vit un type qui y faisait la manche juste refermer l’étui de sa guitare. Ses amis surfeurs lui dire que ce que faisait ce clochard au fort accent hollandais n’étaient pas mal du tout. Piqué dans sa curiosité, Tof prétexta une envie urgente pour s’approcher du clodo. Comment se retrouvait-il peu après avec deux ou trois partitions du pauvre homme dans les mains, ceci fait partie de la légende.Cette nuit-là, seul dans sa maison au bord de l’océan, Tof pu se rendre compte de la réelle qualité de ce qu’il avait dans les mains. Empoignant sa basse, il commença à plaquer les accords des partitions et de suite, l'évidence le frappa : celui qui avait signé Pete Vyler en bas de la page connaissait la musique.
De retour sur Montauban, il se mit à la recherche de musicien. Les critères étaient simples. Pas de fioriture ni d’esbroufe. Les partitions volées à Pete Vyler doivent être jouées le plus brut possible, il ne s’agira que de Rock’n Roll.
Difficile aujourd’hui de trouver un guitariste qui n’en fout pas des tonnes, d’un batteur qui accepte d’assurer une simple rythmique et un chanteur qui arrive à lier mélodie et puissance. Péché ci et là lors de soirée de beuverie, peu à peu le groupe se forma. Le premier morceau qu’ils composèrent est très fortement inspiré des partitions volées. Alors, comme un hommage, le groupe décida de prendre le nom de ce clochard céleste.
